I always liked being IT

Jeremy D. Miller has tagged me in the game of Blog-Tag.  I did a little research on this and it seems it was brought to us software developers by Jeff Pulver.  Others in blogosphere have started there own lines of infection not waiting for Jeff’s line to reach them.  One has even been mapped.  The origin of this line started with Shawn Wildermuth.

1.  I went to the University of Maine majoring in Geology.  I was not prepared for university and spent my first year there as if it were a party.  After my third semester majoring in Horticulture I was asked to take a semester off for poor grades.  I never returned to the University of Maine.  I took several semesters of courses at the Northern Virginia Community College but have never gotten a degree.

2.  My first career was in Landscaping (Ornamental Horticulture).  I had two failed business ventures, one solo and one with a partner.  I still like working outside and look forward to the day when I have a large shade garden of my own.

3.  I started work in this industry in January 2000 as an MIS engineer.  My first week I set a computer on fire.  That should tell you how little I knew.  I have not change companies, I have only had one employer in this industry.  I am completely self-taught.

4.  I used to brew beer.  I was good at it and even thought about it as a career.  Sometimes I wish I still did brew.

5.  I am currently learning about Memetics and Buddhism.  I am considering becoming a Buddhist.

I tag Martin Woodward, Grant Drake, Michael Feathers, James Avery, and Jim Holmes.
